Since Jacob was not sure what time he would get home on Saturday, my parents and sister came up from Alabama to watch McKenzie while I went on the dinner cruise with the rest of the lovely ladies of PI! While they were only here for a brief tine, they had a blast!!! They went to Dockside a wonderful restaurant on waterside in Port Royal! Were McKenzie attacked some corn on the cob! her favorite!!! Then from there, they took McKenzie shopping...oh if I only could have been a fly on the wall to see her... I know how crazy she is with me, I can only imagine that she was everywhere!!!! Then they went to bruster's for ice cream, and then back to the harbour to pick me up!!! It was a short trip but well enjoyed!!!

Yellow Footprints Cruise!
Mommy had a night out!!! First one in a long long time!!! I had a wonderful time with all my girl friends. We left from the harbour at downtown Beaufort and cruised the waterfront around Lady's Island, Port Royal, and Beaufort. We had a wonderful dinner of prime rib, herb grilled chicken, green beans & mashed potatoes. We stayed out on the water for three hours. You truly have not seen Beaufort until you see it from the water!!! It was so much fun! I am so glad that everything worked out and I was able to go!

Montessori activity!
Since I am so fortunate to be able to stay at home with McKenzie, we have decided to put the time we have together to good use. My wonderful friend Missy has given us a great platform to get started on. The Montessori Method is a child-centered, alternative educational method based on the child development. Its method of education is characterised by emphasising self-directed activity, it is to stress the importance of adapting the child’s learning environment to his or her development level, and the role of physical activity in the child’s absorbing abstract concepts and learning practical skills.
Our first activity we tried today was moving beans from one bowl to the other from left to right, either using the spoon or her hands. She was occupied for at least twenty minutes moving the beans around. It was so cool to watch her concentrate on moving the beans on the spoon without spilling them! This was the first of many activities to come!!!
thanks Missy for all your help!!!

My latest creation!
I wanted McKenzie to have something "cute" to wear for Jacob's graduations. So, I made her some precious yellow & white polka dot boutique bottoms by sewsensible, and I made her a matching shirt with a "M" on it and with white bows on the top and bottom of them "M", I figured for his December graduation she can wear a red shirt under it, since his battalion colors are yellow & red!! She is such a great model, she tried it on for me and danced around in it!!! I can't wait to see her in at Jacob's graduation!!!

Jacob's Colorguard Duty!
Jacob is now apart of the color guard team for Hotel Company of 2nd battalion. He had his first family day performance and graduation this week. They did great! I was so proud of him. Listening to the battalion commander talk at family day almost brought tears to my eyes. I have a feeling at Jacob's actual first platoon graduation, on September 11th, I might cry!!! What can I say, I am a softy! It is just so amazing to know that our husband's (that is for all you DI wives) get to make a huge impact on these boys...that after seventy long and hard training days, Jacob will have helped produced a Marine.
Here are some pictures from family day and graduation. Jacob is the one on the left when looking at the group. He is carrying a rifle.

Beach Trip with Mimi & PawPaw
We went to Panama City, Florida with Mimi and PawPaw. Unfortunately Jacob was not able to make the trip with us this time...he is making MARINES right now!!! We stayed at Calypso Resort, it is right across from Pier Park, walking distance. GREAT place to stay awesome pool area and right next to all the fun shops and restaurants!!! It was so much fun! Jody and Holly enjoyed playing with McKenzie so much. We ate at some amazing places, just to name a few: The Back Porch, Guy Harvey's, The Treasure Ship, Sweet Basil's and Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville! Everywhere we went had a great atmosphere and of course great food! Holly and I did the sling shot.....it was so much fun :) I think the video of us was too funny!!! We took a boat out to Shell Island....which I highly recommend. The water was gorgeous and so calm... we found lots of shells and even saw a few dolphins and caught a few fish!!! McKenzie loved riding the train and the carousal. She got her first air brush shirt...and LOVED it, it had such bright colors in it! We played in the sand and got our beach toys stolen...who does that to a child???? crazy! We rode in a carriage that was pulled by a bike...too funny!!! Poor guy, he pulled Mimi, Aunt La, McKenzie and myself, but I think the funniest was that he took Jody and PawPaw for a ride!!!! We played arcade and McKenzie pushed the button this game and made the ball land in the jackpot hole, she won 1000 tickets!!! It was so crazy!!! She left with so many toys that night we had so many tickets left Holly & Jody even got toys!!!
