This past years Marine Corps ball was a little different than previous ones we have attended. It was separated between snco's and then nco. It was crazy, they had two different balls. Mimi & Pawpaw came up so we could go and spend the evening together without worrying about McKenzie! It was so nice, we went with our good friends The Aaron's. (who ironically are from Alabama as well...Corner, so they are really close to where we are from) We went at ate dinner at 11th Street Dockside, and then headed to the ball. They did the cake cutting ceremony and then started playing some music, we danced for a little bit and then left and went to the after party at the Aaron's house! We had a blast!!!

McKenzie's First Trip to the Circus! (Jan 31, 2009)

We came home a few days early before we left for Disney, so McKenzie could go to the circus. Waiting in line to get in she loved all the glow toys, she tried to take one from the little girl behind us! Once we got in, we went down to the floor to see the clowns and get pictures with them. McKenzie enjoyed looking at them, but of course she did not want to get near them. I don't blame her clown are kinda scary looking! Once in our seats McKenzie had a blast, she was clapping and screaming!!! I had no idea the circus last as long as it does...by intermission McKenzie was asleep. She slept through the Elephants & Tigers. She ending up sleeping through the rest of the circus!

Trying to cook! (Feb 24, 2009)

McKenzie has found a new exciting thing that she likes to do. She gets all my pots and pans out under the counter and starts banging them around. I will give he a spoon so she thinks she is doing something! She is such a big helper and is constantly wanting to do anything and everything that Jacob & I do.

Lovin' to give hugs! (Feb 26, 2009)

McKenzie LOVES to give hugs these days. She especially likes to hug on Bob! They are so cute. She also like to hug on all of her friends! What can I say she is a sweetie!

Helping Mommy Clean !

Here lately McKenzie is obsessed with carrying the broom & swiffer around the house. It is so cute, she also wants a rag so she can clean as well. Funny thing is Bob is scared to death of the broom and so she chases him around the house with it. I am starting her out early! I put a cleaning pad on the swiffer and let her go to work...lol! Eventually she will not want to help me :) so I am taking advantage of it while I can!!!

Valentine's Day Weekend! (2/14/09)

On McKenzie's first Valentine's day, she woke up dressed in her Valentine's PJ's and open her surprises from mommy & daddy and mimi & pawpaw. Valentine's day is also Mimi's Birthday and she turned the big 50 !!! so we all went out to dinner at Stix in Hoover to celebrate. You can only imagine how many people where there on Valentine's Day. Aunt Holly had called and made us reservations at 6, so we thought it would be no big deal! We arrived about 20 minutes early and ended up waiting over an hour to get our table! However it was well worth the wait! We enjoyed being entertained by our chef, watching McKenzie tear up a plate of rice and watching them put a silly hat on Mimi and sing Happy Birthday to her! It was a blast!!!

Then on Sunday we had a birthday party for Mimi, Jacob, Jody & Ashley's boyfriend. It is so crazy, all the boys birthday's are the same!!! Everyone came over and we ate mammaw's lasanga, and had cake! It was a wonderful time with family!

A day at the park! (Jan 5th 2009)

We took a walk to the park to let McKenzie swing and just to get out of the house! She enjoyed the ride in the stroller up to the park! Once there she got out and I put her in the swing! She loved it, she squealed the whole time! She liked standing up next to the tire swing. We played and played and then walked back home, and she feel asleep on the back, I guess I wore her out! :)
