This child... she gets to have so many events twice...lol! So the weekend before Halloween we were able to go home, and let McKenzie go trick-or-treating at Tanniehill. So we where actually at our house on the 31st for McKenzie to go trick-or-treating around our neighborhood. We got ready and met up with our friends the Brown's and took the kids out. McKenzie was dressed as a lady bug and look adorable! She made it to two houses and fell asleep, she rode around in the stroller while we walked around the neighborhood! When we got back to the house McKenzie played with her pumpkin. We sat our candy on the front porch, but no one stopped by to get it, so we had lots of candy left over!! We had a great time on McKenzie's First Halloween.

Daddy Leaving for DI school
On Sunday April 5, 2009, Jacob left to check in to his hotel on Parris Island for Drill Instructor School! His training is eleven weeks. During this time, he will be put to the test both physically and mentally. He has not only written test but also drill test and teach backs. We have lived at the MCX(the store) over the past month, still there is always something new that he has to buy. We are on week three and counting down every day! It has not been too bad for McKenzie and I because we are able to see him every day. Our time is limited with him, but he needs this time to study & rest. His expected graduation date is June 24th.
I found this on the back of a DI book, it is very true and I thought I would share it!
The USMC Drill Instructors must take raw recruits and make them into "squared away" Marines- the men and women who will make up the finest and most feared fighting force in the world.
The Drill Instructors are the blood of the Coprs. For without the DIs...without the "HATS"...there would be no recruit training-no recruit depot-no marines -and no Marine Corps And that is unimaginable.
McKenzie's first trip to Gatlinburg, TN
We got a little time off at the end of March, before Jacob started DI school and took a trip up to Gatlinburg, TN with the family. We had a beautiful three story cabin in the mountains. We went to Downtown Gatlinburg and shopped & ate. McKenzie got to build her first bear. She named her sweetie. We relaxed at the cabin playing pool & shooting each other with air soft guns. Boys will be boys!! We played mini golf, took McKenzie to an amusment park with all rides that she could ride and we loaded up on fudge at the candy store....and of course ate pancakes at one of the many pancake houses!! We had a blast and can't wait to go back again!

The start to a wonderful friendship!

At first, I was so worried that Bob was going to be too rowdy for McKenzie and I was afraid that we may have to get rid of him. He would try and grab her feet like a toy. I did not want him hurting her... little did I know that even at only one month old McKenzie and Bob were making a friendship that would last forever. Bob finally calmed down and he and McKenzie are inseparable, McKenzie lays all over him, steps on him and pulls his ears and all he does is lay there...it never even phases him. They work together as a team to get what they want as well. McKenzie will slowly hang food over the side of the highchair for Bob. They like to chase each other around too... Bob is scared of the broom for some reason, and McKenzie will take the broom and run after him all around the house! They LOVE each other, it is so sweet to watch the two of them together.
Our 2 year Anniversary! 12/28
Since we were at home for our anniversary, Mimi & PawPaw kept McKenzie while Jacob & I went out. We decided we would do diner and a movie. We went to Olive Garden, at the time it was yummy I can't remember what Jacob had, but I got something with shrimp... we had a nice diner and then we were off to the movie. As we were driving over to the movies which was only like a 2 minute drive I started feeling sick, but I was determined that we where going to have a nice time out, so I could suck it up. We waited in a LONG line to get our movie tickets and were going to see "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." We go in and sit up towards the top and some what in the middle. After a few minutes, I told Jacob I had to go to the bathroom, I was sick... so needless to say, I went to the restroom, barely making it to the trash can inside. I washed my face off and was like "OK, I feel better now" I go back and sit down and no more that 5 minutes later it comes back... I could not hold it in... Jacob reached down and grabbed me the popcorn bag... in the middle of the movie, I was so embarrassed. So needless to say we had to run down the stairs before it came on again! We made it down and I felt a lot better, so we head to the car thinking that the fresh air was what I need. However, I forgot that I did not finish my meal at Olive Garden, and we had got it to go, so the car smelled just like the food the that been coming back up. Soooo...I started to get sick again, finally we made it to a gas station and Jacob went in and got me a drink... after that we both began laughing so hard!!! I was so funny, I felt sorry for the people in front of us at the theater! With all that being said we had a great time together and it is a memory that will last forever!
McKenzie's First Christmas!
Better late than never!
McKenzie's first Christmas was spent at Mimi & PawPaw's house in the Grove. Aunt Holly made McKenzie some reindeer food to sprinkle out in the front lawn. This was a tradition that we did for Holly as well. After getting all the cookies made and changing into our PJ's (the girls always wear matching ones...the guys included! It is so much fun!) we sprinkled out reindeer food and headed to bed! I always have been bad about getting everyone up EARLY on Christmas morning... I think we made it to 6:30ish this time! McKenzie walked in the room and was overwhelmed by all the toys! She watched as we helped he open her presents. She tried to ride on her pony, but she was not too sure about it. After we opened presents we drove over to Mammaw & Pappaw's house (another tradition) in our PJ's of course. We opened our gifts there, and then it is back to Mimi &PawPaw's to get ready for the day! We went over to Mammaw's again and ate lunch and filled up on lots of goodies!!! The day was perfect, we had a WONDERFUL Christmas!
